Aries, the Ram and the Water Bearer

This series on AstroCompatibility will cover all of the potential matchups in the Zodiac. We will continue this series thinking about and commenting on Aries and Aquarius.

Aries - Aquarius -

Aquarius is Air and Fixed. Aries is Fire and Cardinal. One is a winter sign. One is a spring sign. The Ram is experiencing the lightning shock of brand new, post-winter dynamism. It is about moving around chewing sprouting plants on the sun-splashed hill. Aquarius is housed in the quietude of winter, with the cold blasting on its shoulders. It is thinking about big ideas and contemplating its purpose in the lonesomeness of isolating frost.

As I always say in these analyses, if people are attracted to each other, you have to look at their individual charts. However, its still a good idea to look at these contradictions/comparisons. This is a potential match in which I would emphasize those issues. On the outside, a basic look declares that these two do not have much in common. But then, having something in common is often NOT the reason for couples getting together. Often, it is their contrasting elements that draw. Aries energy and action orientation might need an Aquarian point of view. The Aquarian view tends to be all embracing and philosophical. Aquarius is also stubborn. Aries might appreciate that resolve and a less " selfish " point of view. Aquarius might be vitalized and thrilled by all that springtime energy. Aquarius might see the Ram as a delightful and wondrous burst of daily drive that it, the Water Bearer, does not possess. A look at these issues could lead one to make the comparison that " Rocky " made in the movie of the same name: " Its our gaps. We fill in each others gaps. "

Positive Postulate: Since Aries and Aquarius are so different, they could make a couple based on needing what they do not see in themselves. There are many marriages and matches that are made this way and based upon " filling in each others gaps " . A positive way to look at this kind of match is that the souls would experience opportunities to see things and develop world views that they do not naturally have. Life, in all of its multidinous factors, is constantly providing ways for us to see things " in the alternative " . Put in a positive vision, Aries could be enchanted with Aquarius ideas that they get fixed on, because it lets Aries see the world in a less hurly burly way. Aquarius could take a different point of view every once in awhile, just enjoying how life lived in motion, like a movie, is less like they see things, as a mural that they are drawing with their own personal perspective. There is nothing more viewpoint changing than living with someone who sees the world differently than you do, on a daily basis.

Romance Recommendation: Aries and Aquarius would need a very high romance factor, in order for their match to work on a longer than a short term basis. As I said, based upon " opposites attract " , one would have to assume that their different points of view would take their electricity into the boudoir. Aquarius, conservative, and at the same time -- " out of this world " , could look at Aries adventurousness and be wowed. Aries could find the Water Bearers look at romance as a refreshingly different, and therefore having an appealing quality.

Conflict Quotient: Aries and Aquarius could rate " difficult " here. The water bearer would paintstakingly explain in overly long terms why Aries should not get angry, but how Aries is ALWAYS having these subjective opinions. Aries would just laugh at the tedious talk and " cuss " them out with a flashing move toward the door. The Water Bearers plodding kind of self satisfaction and " knowing that they are always right " would portend bad news for arguments and conflicts with an Aries, who would tend to become even more impatient than they already are anyway. Then finally, after one of Aquarius long statements, Aries would take the non-intellectual approach and climax the fight with a colorful insult and slam the door.

Peace Parlay: Life in the end is repetitive and mundane, and so is Romance itself. This factor asks the question: " Can we be bored together over the long term? " Since we are assuming that opposites have attracted over a long term, we contemplate this couple being potentially bored together. At this point, I would declare that boredom would not be one of their problems. They could be quiet and mundane together. Aquarius could contemplate, Aries could rest. If they did get bored, they could change things a bit. Both would have lots of ideas. Again, if they lasted, there would be lots of reasons why they made it work, and boredom could actually be welcome.

Keep Up The Interest Graph: The Ram and The Water Bearer, with their different life views could sample each others points of view and allow for each others opinions, thus making the pallet a multi-colored canvas. As long as Aquarius would not find another who was more suited to their " vision for the future " and Aries did not find someone to have more fun with, they could last, in their uniqueness. But their friends might not be surprised if interest was lost through exhausting adaptation.

Seven Year Itchiness: There are some signs that by their nature are more stable in their love interests and family concerns as time goes on. Others are not. I would not rate the Aries essentially to be ultra stable, in any case, but with this couple, a 7 Year Itch could be like a neon sign saying: " Sample the various offerings " . Aquarius, a classic maker of its own rules, could also take the 7 year itch as a divine message from some Outer Source. Making it through this period would mean that this truly was a serious match with soul connections.

RATING:

ASTROCOMPATIBILITY POSSIBILITY RATING: 50% Positive Long Term - 50% Short Term . Aries and Aquarius could make a good possible combination, because they took advantage of contrasting points of view and character differences. There are enough reasons that this is not a classical matchup that a 50% match rating would be because true love would be ruling. Will, individuality, love of variety and fascination with the differing personality could all be reasons why it could work. Check out www.astrologygetalong.com.
