Leo’s Ruling Planet is the Sun. That’s right these Sun Signs have the actual Sun as their dominant planet. And as such, the Lion is empowered to walk around and create a glowing sense of Pride and Note and Achievement wherever they put their Royal Paws.
Think of Lucille Ball
She turned a minor show girl career into an unforgettable and immortal TV Show that will be showing re runs into the Future. She had a Leo time of it, trying to get along with Ricky, and indeed she showed off how a Leo woman rules the roost, but still keeps her class, and that right there is what Leos are all about.
Napoleon Bonaparte
You can’t put anyone alongside Napoleon. He was a ”funny talking” Corsican with a great desire for upstaging and outfighting. Every day was a day for him to shine. He did not want to be ordinary. He knew that was not an achievement. If you know your history, you know he turned the world upside down with his fighting and view of global glory. He took a French Army into Russia, as great a force as could be imagined at the time, and then they met the Russian Winter and the Stubborn Russians themselves. His great army died, froze to death and got reduced to miniscule levels. Then he turned around and had his Waterloo, not too far from them. Leos will never give up, if you permit them!
Louis Armstrong, Hulk Hogan, Deep Throat
The glorious Louis Armstrong lived in a million clubs before electronic glory could make you immortal. He did it with his glorious talent and wonderful voice and smile. That glorious Leo way took him to the top of the world, up into the Age of Electronics to reign forever as an utterly unique artist and singer. From poverty and insignificance Hulk Hogan arose to be the prima donna of his wrestling world. And “Deep Throat” of Watergate Fame, even though he felt he could not be “famous”, he still wanted to “make an impact”. This is kind of the ultimate Leo conflict. “How can I be noticed by people and still keep my integrity?”
Sherry Lansing, Monica Lewinski, Alfred Hitchcock
Like Lucille Ball, Sherry Lansing became the first big Hollywood Producer who was a woman. A kind of redux of Lucy, she came up through the ranks, and then established herself on top. Monica Lewinski, had the ability that Leos often do, of finding fame just by virtue of her talents and special gifts. By the way, Bill Clinton, another Leo joined her in their strange Leonine fame as an unusual pair of twins. Alfred Hitchcock took his unusual English manner and became world famous for his particular style and compelling art. But guess what else? It is so Leo. He appeared anonymously in his films. Suddenly, on the street, next to the star, a little chubby man in a dark suit walked across the scene.
If You Are a Leo
Sometimes Leos get caught in the “Mission from God” feeling. I must be a Leo before anything else, before my purpose, before the public policy, before the cause – I must shine as myself – the Great Lion. Often, this is what happens, and it can cripple, often, the life being led. But generally you should consider yourself equipped with the Inner Resources to motor yourself all the way up the mountain that you have chosen to climb. Just don’t arouse someone’s hatred so much that they push you off the mountain, or so caught up in your own show that you forget that at this point, you are just a “walk on”, not the Director allowing himself a bit part in a show he is already running.
